Brandsmiths is seeking an experienced Brand Strategist to join our team. We are looking for those with a minimum of four to five years’ experience, with a proven track record in developing and delivering brand solutions for clients. Agency experience is essential, though we would be interested to hear from those who also have a client-side background, where you have particular experience in brand development and implementation and strong marketing/brand management skills.
You will occupy a broad and varied role, the principal tasks of which will include managing brand development and positioning projects, with oversight from partners; developing brand concepts and strategic frameworks, for both corporate and consumer brands; undertaking competitor and market analysis, and providing commentary on brand, consumer and sector trends; undertaking exploratory desk research and developing summary presentations; managing third party and supplier relationships throughout the process, e.g. research and naming, and overseeing the development and implementation of creative work e.g. corporate identity, communications. You will also contribute to the generation and conversion of new business opportunities, including research, planning and pitching.
You’ll have a number of ‘mission-critical’ skills which will allow you to succeed and flourish in the role:
• An intuitive approach to thinking about brands and the ability to forge brand strategies and that support business performance and growth;
• An appetite for creating tangible, actionable solutions for clients that will deliver commercial advantage through robust, original thinking;
• A strong understanding of marketing activity and the ability to manage the practical implementation and internal and external application of brand solutions;
• Strong commercial aptitude and a talent for managing client relationships to achieve the best result for all parties;
• Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills;
• Awareness of budget and management of the financial aspects of projects;
• Well honed analytical skills and the ability to organise and present information/data in a way that makes clear, compelling arguments and makes the complex simple;
• Knowledge and experience of research techniques, both qualitative and quantitative;
• A true self-starter, confident in working self-sufficiently while also able to work brilliantly as part of a team, coordinating others’ efforts to achieve desired objectives.
The role is most likely to start as a 6 month contract, progressing to permanent.
Salary will be commensurate with experience but we are looking at an approximate band of 50- 65k.
